Preparing First Responders through the National Incident Management System

The NIMS provides a common approach to state and national response that will enable responders at all levels to work together more effectively to manage domestic incidents. It includes a core set of guidelines, standards, and protocols for command and management, preparedness, and communications in emergency situations.
